I have family in Cumbria and have fond memories of being taken to explore many parts of the Lake District on childhood visits. These included Ambleside, Grasmere, Grizedale Forest, Ravenglass, Eskdale, Tarn Hows, Walney Island, Ulverston, Grange over Sands, Bootle, Cartmel, Hawkshead, Coniston and Windermere. (Apologies for the list).
Many people are aware of the beauty of the Lake District National Park, recently awarded status as a World Heritage Site. Through my walking I have also discovered some of the unsung areas such as the Northern Fells, High Cup Nick, the Howgills, Eden Valley and the Solway Firth.
Sadly my Cumbrian Fells (Wainwrights) tally is still pretty meagre but I hope to improve on this. My Cumbria day hike routes are available to download on Viewranger.

I started recording my walks on video in 2012 to share the beauty of the walks with others. Above is a link to a playlist of my recent walks in Cumbria.
